Orcarve's Headhunter 1

Picked up my first full custom, and for those of you digging the Tanker, you may find this amusing: Well, after about 2 seasons of drawing, scanning spec sheets, measuring existing boards and bugging the heck out of Bruce, the headhunter has landed. 200cm of Custom All Mtn. joy. Borrowing heavily from the Rad-Air Tankers, the stock All Mtn.s and specs extrapolated from pics of the Radical Surf (plus mixed with my on ideas), I think I may have come up with a quiver killer. A hair less stiff then a normal Coiler carving board, she is, in Bruce's words "friggen awsome". Specs- Length: 200cm Sidecut: 12m Waist width: 22cm Tip width: 28cm Tail width: 27.3cm (love that taper!) Running Length: aprox 170cm Coiler Flex index: 6.6 The shovel is pretty huge- I wanted to keep it up on top of everything rather then just cut through it. Borrowed a bit of the excessive nose from the old Avalanche Tom Burt and the larger Winterstick Severe terrains- a bit closer to the Burt though. Its no alpine board (in the common sense). The Tanker has an 11m sidecut, and I thought it was a little to short for a board of the length, thought the Radical 222 has I believe a 13m, as do many of the larger (190-200) swallowtails made by some of the smaller makers. I also liked the specs on the Coiler 180ish race carves, and based it a bit on those specs with a nose and tail (with about as much rise as most noses). Now I need to learn to ride switch. I wanted to be able to cut it around reasonably well, but still have enough edge to hold onto the hill when its been groomed out and I'm cranking. I've only had her out a few days so far- but look forward to the coming season. Great edge to edge, soft enough to move around without having to go 60mph, and lots of smooth grip.
